MARCUS Harness has become the latest Pompey summer signing after arriving for an undisclosed fee from Burton.
The 23-year-old winger’s acquisition will likely confirm Jamal Lowe’s exit from the club, with Wigan his most likely destination.
Harness has played 83 games for the Brewers since his debut as a 17-year-old in 2013. He enjoyed his best campaign last season with six goals in 39 appearances, including a hat-trick against Rochdale.
He has signed a three-year deal at Fratton Park and manager Kenny Jackett said: “He improved as last season went on and had a great campaign overall.
“I feel that Marcus can play in any of those three positions behind the striker and is a really exciting signing for us.
“He’s got plenty of pace, can handle the ball and go past people – it gives us a really good variation of attacking options.”
• The club have confirmed that the home game against Rotherham, scheduled for Saturday August 24, has now been postponed. The match was initially moved to a 12.30pm kick-off with the Victorious Festival taking place in the city on the same day, but after discussions with various agencies it has been decided to call the game off. An alternative date is yet to be announced with all tickets already purchased remaining valid.
