PORTSMOUTH have moved to further bolster their ranks with talks underway to bring Rangers’ Ross McCrorie to Fratton Park on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old defensive midfielder made 30 appearances for Gers last season, but manager Steven Gerrard is open to sending him out on loan.
Pompey boss Kenny Jackett is keen to increase his midfield options with the season starting in less than a month, and he is long-time admirer of the captain of Scotland’s Under-21 team.
Reports in Scotland say McCrorie, who can also operate at centre-back, will fly south today to discuss terms with Pompey, and Jackett is keen to include the option to buy the player at the end of the loan deal.
If a deal is secured, he would become the sixth summer addition to Jackett’s squad following James Bolton, Ryan Williams, Sean Raggett, Paul Downing and Ellis Harrison.
