WITH three weeks to go before the new campaign officially kicks off, Portsmouth have announced they have sold out of all available season tickets.
The club allocated 14,500 season tickets for Fratton Park, guaranteeing seats for many Pompey supporters while retaining the option for those wishing to buy on a match-by-match basis.
However, tickets for home games up to and including the match against Ipswich on December 21 are still available to purchase online, with details at the club’s website.
Commercial director Anna Mitchell said: “We’re delighted to have sold so many season tickets for the forthcoming campaign.
“It is a fantastic show of support and can only provide a boost for Kenny Jackett and his team as they strive to win promotion from League One.
“We felt it was important to cap the number available, allowing us to still sell some tickets to fans on a match-by-match basis.”
Pompey have already played two warm-up games ahead of the season kick off against Shrewsbury on August 3: a 11-0 win in Dublin against UCD before a far tougher 2-1 win against Havant & Waterlooville at the weekend.
Jamal Lowe was involved in the trip to Ireland but left out of the weekend game against the Hawks as Championship side Wigan firm up their interest in last season’s top scorer.
Reports indicate the two clubs are close to agreeing a fee in the region of £3m for the 24-year-old.
